Would it be a good idea to give the teams in towns and outposts under hard mode a different color party icon? say, red instead of blue?
(Just in case you don't know what I'm talking about it's that small icon with numbers that's directly on top of a group leader's head.)

This way, you'll know how many people are interested in doing the mission in hard mode instead of spamming 5 minutes in local chat to find out that everyone's only wanting to do normal mode.

Trying to get a party for HM and theres always a lvl 8 or something that sees the lvl 20s and tries to join. this would help with that. also it would help you find a party of HMs to join.

I don't think it would be too difficult to make the icon and number red for hard mode teams. There is a mechanism that tells you if a party you are trying to join is full ("The merged party would be too large"), so why not something like "The party is running Hard Mode. You do not have Hard Mode"?

It gets really annoying when you ask for hardmode groups in local chat, and get inundated by join requests by low level characters, or lvl 20 characters that reset the whole parties status to normal mode......then you have to explain that you're doing hard mode, and put up with the abuse when you kick them from the party.....

Hard mode is noted in the party search panel, using it solves a lot of problems like this one.

If only people use it that is... I do sometimes when I'm desperate enough, but the help usually came from my friend's list or local chat 'LFG' spamming.
